Up & Coming with Hope

If you’ve read previous posts on this site, you may know that my dream is to become part of the ever growing games industry in the north west of the UK. I’ve started reading a great deal more about the status quo of games, and I find myself facing a bright future.  Continue reading “Up & Coming with Hope”

My Issue w/Journey

My Issue w/Journey

I have never owned a Playstation 3, my console ‘career’ is quite a long one full of the typical hits, however I moved over to PC after siding with the 360 for some time. As such until last year I’d never had an opportunity to play any exclusives such as Journey, Uncharted or The Last of Us. Then Playstation Now came out and I also moved in with my Partner and we bought a PS4 so why not dive into some of the most hyped games? Continue reading “My Issue w/Journey”

An Ardent Awakening to Animation!

An Ardent Awakening to Animation!

Recently I wrote an article about a theoretical approach towards creating a combo system for a fighting game I’d thought on (notes here). This included the use of a queue to keep track of input in the branching combo tree. I wanted to write up a mini post-mortem into how I got on within Unity on this stage of the project. Algorithm-Magic: Coding Combos

Algorithm-Magic: Coding Combos

Several months ago I attended a job interview where I was told that I didn’t have a great understanding of how to get stuff done in code and that I was relying to heavily on the software I was using. My Issue w/Mass Effect 2

My Issue w/Mass Effect 2

I was craving a role playing game recently, something to actually sink my teeth into and not just grind that core gameplay cycle (sorry Rocket League & Isaac), and I came across my old install of Mass Effect 2 (ME2) and my untouched copy of Mass Effect 3. Why not fire up the old game and get a little hyped for Andromeda after all? Continue reading “My Issue w/Mass Effect 2”

My Issue w/Conflict in Modern Games

My Issue w/Conflict in Modern Games

If you’ve ever read the first 50-pages of any game design book you’ve probably read several definitions of what a game is and what they encompass. This is something I would like to tackle myself through this blog, today however I’m looking at one of those parts that people claim is essential to game – Conflict.  Continue reading “My Issue w/Conflict in Modern Games”

My Issue w/OverWatch’s PvE Mode

My Issue w/OverWatch’s PvE Mode

For those who don’t play Overwatch at all or haven’t played in a while, they’ve released a new game mode in celebration of Halloween, much like how Lucio Ball was in celebration of the Olympics. Whilst I never ‘got’ Lucio Ball, I straight up don’t like this PvE mode. Continue reading “My Issue w/OverWatch’s PvE Mode”

Going Bump in the Night

Ladies, Gentlemen and fictitious readers – welcome one and all! It’s another month on, which means I’ve a brand new podcast to be bringing to your delicate ears. This time we finally were able to bring none other than Frank Mallon on board!…. Yea, no I’ve never heard of him either. Continue reading “Going Bump in the Night”
